“It’s Time”: Welcome to Our Network!

Written by BFAN Network Team

The Canada and International Black Women Event  June 2016, was a major driving force in creating a professional network for black female accountants and students.

It is our pleasure, and honour, to introduce the Black Female Accountants Network (‘BFAN Network’).

A network based on Christian values, where members empower each other to make a difference in the accounting profession, workplace and the community.

We are different from an association, operating in a more fluid and less self-contained structure. Through relationships with our peers, volunteers, ambassadors, recruiters, professional associations, sponsors, CPA Canada and provincial bodies, other professional networks, international accounting associations and community role models, our goal is to work with and learn from each other, to solve today’s professional challenges and build a legacy for tomorrow’s leaders.

Our Vision: every black female accountant is empowered to make a difference within the accounting profession, workplace, and the community.

Our Mission: to focus on creating opportunities for black female accountants to share knowledge and experiences through a process of engagement and professional reflection. To provide a forum to showcase and celebrate accomplishments and to utilize tools and resources for professional advancement.

The launch of our newsletter marks an important milestone in our journey so far. The BFAN Network is where you will learn from the role models in our field, meet people who have already  developed and implemented solutions to your hurdles. This is where female leaders from all areas of the finance and accounting profession will share their professional triumphs and action steps you can take right now.

We look forward to using this newsletter as the first step in collectively building a forum to connect, learn, educate, develop and share knowledge and experiences with each other.
