“This was a phenomenal event. It was great meeting and networking with persons who look like me and share similar experiences. My most commendable takeaway was the information received from the 2017 Tax update presentation by Shavon. It is also great to know I will be able to claim CPD points from this session.”
“It was good to welcome members to our network and hearing their experiences and interests. The tax session was very interesting and informative. We were able to ask questions and get answers that will help us with future planning. Thank you to Shavon.”
“Great session this morning! I really appreciated having the tax education section. It was informative and absolutely timely. I look forward to having more education sessions in future meetings. I think this is just as critical as networking and other pieces of the meeting.”
“It was really great getting to meet everyone in person today. I’ll have to admit, I wasn’t really reading the email communications being sent out because I didn’t really feel like I knew what was going on. But after attending today’s session, I now have an understanding of what BFAN is about and I’ve also now developed interest in the group and will be participating more. Not to mention the tax update by Shavon which was really informative and a great open discussion about tax. So now I have something to say to other ladies about joining BFAN. It’s great to be part of the group. Thanks for inviting me!”
“From today’s meeting, I was able to learn more information from the tax section, Good Job Shavon!!! Also happy to hear the progress of the group and happy to see new faces. Thanks to everyone for coming and hope to see you all in upcoming events.”
“This was my first meeting. The atmosphere felt very safe and comfortable. The ladies were very friendly. The topics were great and apt for what we were there for.
The corporate tax update was great. Very informative and interactive. Her pace was steady as well.
I am really glad I came and looking forward to the future meetings.
I left the meeting feeling very motivated
Thank you BFAN!!”
“Thanks for putting this meeting together. It was well organized with breaks.
-It was also great that a few members could present and introduce themselves so we got to know their backgrounds/ stories. Going forward I think this is a good method to get people’s feet wet with public speaking and also so that we get to know other people in the network.
-Educational section / Tax Update:
Great insight from Shavon. I learnt so much about tax. And I definitely think this is a great benefit of being a member of the network. That’s what it’s all about – sharing knowledge
I look forward to the next meeting!”
“I was reminded as to why I’m invested in the Accounting profession. The ladies spoke about their involvement with DECA and other initiatives and it helped me to further envision where I want to get to in my career. To move up the ladder and pull others along.
Regarding the tax update, I’ll be filing taxes as an employed person for the first time this year, so I really need to make sure I’m doing it the right way. The information was helpful and I now know where to get further help in actually filing my taxes.”
Lots of dialogue especially relating to taxes- something that affects us all.
Great to hear about the events we have participated in and to know that this network is getting known.
Let’s continue to spread the word to reach our GOAL500. ”
