October 27, 2018.

This will be THE Summit for Leaders and Aspiring Leaders.

Simone Atungo, Chief Executive Officer

As a highly renowned and award-winning community leader, Simone Atungo provides over 30 years of experience in community-based not-for-profit and public sector organizations. Simone’s expertise includes strategic and operational planning, change management, policy and program development, facilitation, community-based research, advocacy and community relations.

Prior to joining the Anne Johnston Health Station – Tobias House Attendant Care Services as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Simone served as Vice-President, Resident and Community Services at Toronto Community Housing Corporation, the second largest housing provider in North America. Simone is also the former Director of Community Development & Integration at Mount Sinai Hospital, and the former Executive Director of the Parkdale Community Health Centre.

Simone holds a Masters degree in Environmental Studies and a Non-profit Management Certificate both from York University and an Executive Leadership Program Certificate from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.

Lori-Ann Beausoleil, Partner, PwC

Lori-Ann Beausoleil is a partner at PwC in the advisory practice. She leads the Ethics, Governance and Compliance practice which includes compliance program reviews, management and Board governance reviews, process and control reviews, regulatory investigations, assisting organizations with the implementation of processes and controls to meet regulatory requirements, corporate intelligence reviews and technology services.

She brings over 30 years of risk, financial, operational and regulatory experience to her clients.

Lori-Ann began her career at PwC in 1988 and became a partner in 1999. She is a CA and holds a BComm from the University of Toronto. She is also a member of the Canadian Chartered Professional Accountants and the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario.

Alice Fomen immigrated to Canada in 2008 and started working for the French Catholic school board in 2010. After gaining her Bachelor Degree in Education from University of Ottawa, Alice started promoting networking between immigrant teachers. She is the founder and director of Alliance pour une Communauté Éducative Inclusive (ACEI), an organization promoting networking and capacity building for teachers.

Angela Khakali is an economics professional, advising the provincial government on infrastructure priorities and identifying investments that will provide value for money. Angela is involved in community building initiatives, including Manyatta Network, a professional networking organization for the African Diaspora based in Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa.

Ingrid Minott is Legal Counsel at Deloitte (Canada) and serves on the Board of Directors of the Black Female Lawyers Network and the Canadian Stage. She is a volunteer lawyer with Pro Bono Ontario and is a mentor to young lawyers and students. She was the recipient of the 2017 Tomorrow’s Leader Award at the Canadian General Counsel Awards.

Liliana Nakamura is an HR Project Manager with extensive experience in organizational development, change management, and leadership development. Liliana is now committed to giving back to the community as a Mentor, Speaker and Leader. She is currently volunteering as the President of a diverse organization called UnstoppableMe and is also a Mentor with TRIEC and CultureLink.

Marcela Chein is an Education and Administration professional, who joined EXATEC Ontario, the alumni association of Tecnologico de Monterrey, in 2013 after arriving to Canada. During the 2014-2016 period, she became the event coordinator of the association. In April 2016, she became the president of EXATEC Ontario, position she held until June 8, 2018. She is now Chair of EXATEC Ontario’s Advisory Board and a member of TRIEC PINs Advisory Committee.

An accomplished senior leader with over 20 years Erica King is Senior Director of Global Reconciliation Services with Enterprise Operations & Payments at RBC, Canada’s largest bank.  Actively engaged in volunteering and making a difference in the community, mentoring young women across the GTA. Formerly sat on the Board of Directors for the YWCA in the Durham Region. Also associated with Autism Speaks.

Juliette Henry CPA is Vice President at CITCO. Juliette has worked on leading and building teams, mentoring young accountants starting in the field. In addition to working on full cycle accounting, Juliette has extensive experience implementing systems, policies and procedures, structuring and identifying efficiencies within organizations and project management.

Lianne Hannaway CPA, CA, BMath is Managing Director, Business Finance and Controller with over 18 years of experience both in Canada and abroad. Lianne has been a director for many boards, including Humber College and the Canadian Association of Urban Financial Professionals (@caufp). She is passionate about community building and equity and inclusion for women and underrepresented people.

Sandra Smith, CPA, CA, Director, Sales Tax Advisory at Ryan ULC is a sales tax advisory practice leader.  She specializes in providing clients with advice on all aspects of federal and provincial commodity taxes in Canada. Sandra has over twenty-five years of professional experience, providing taxation, assurance, accounting, and treasury services to large corporations in a variety of industries.

Sharon Barnes-Simmonds CPA, CGA FCCA MBA is Director, Accounting at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). An avid volunteer who strongly believes in giving back to her community, Sharon has held volunteer roles with Circle K International (College) and Kiwanis International and more recently with the United Achievers Community Services Inc as well as PACE Canada and CPA Ontario where she sometimes deliver speeches on the University Circuit on their behalf.
